DELIRIOUS WEST
CREW INFO
Welcome, legends of the sidelines!
Crewing Delirious WEST? This page has the essentials: aid station pinned map points, pacer guidelines, and what’s expected at each checkpoint. If you're supporting a runner out there, read this first — it'll help keep things smooth, safe, and deliriously efficient.
DRIVING ROUTES
All crew accessible aid stations will be 2WD accessible. Country roads have ever changing conditions, and some of these locations will be pretty bumpy and potentially wet, so please take your time and ensure that you drive to those conditions.

AID STATION PROTOCOL
NO BLOCKING ACCESS
Crews must never act in such a way as to block runners, access to the course, or aid station. If this happens, the supported runner may be immediately disqualified.
FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
Crews must adhere to instructions of all officials, including requests to vacate certain areas of the aid station.
AID STATION ACCESS
Support crews must stay out of the resupply area unless their runner is present.
RUNNERS ONLY
Food, drink, medical supplies (etc.) at the aid station are only provided for runners.
RESPECT THE QUIET
No excessive noise or raucous behaviour is permitted. Please be as quiet as possible at checkpoints as our runners may be sleeping or trying to get some much-needed rest before their next segment. Respect the quiet — your runner (and everyone else’s) will thank you for it.
STICK TO THE SIGNAGE
Crews must always obey all signage.
WHEN NATURE CALLS
When relieving yourselves, please do 100m away from water sources and bury your waste 30cm deep.
PACERS
SUPPORT CREW
If you are to have a pacer, you will also be required to have another support crew member. This is for a variety of reasons, but predominately so that they can swap pacing duties and/or if the pacer needs to drop out for any reason, the support crew will be there to pick them up and not take away valuable event staff from their roles of securing the participants safety.
PACER START LOCATIONS
Pacers for the 200 Miler can start from 140km mark at the Walpole Sleep Station.
Pacers for the 100 Miler can start from the 71.0km mark at the Lowlands Aid Station.
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS
Please note pacers under the age of 18 may only join their runner from Shazza’s Aid Station to the finish (unless prior approvals from event management).
MANDATORY GEAR
Pacers will be required to carry the same mandatory equipment as the runner (with a few exemptions - please refer to the mandatory list here). Please note that pacers WILL NOT be allowed to pace if they do not have ALL the mandatory gear.
AID STATION FOOD AND WATER
Pacers CANNOT utilise aid station food at 'crew-accessible' aid stations - they will need to re-supply themselves at the aid station by crew and/or runners drop bags. Pacers CAN access aid station food at 'no-crew-access' aid stations.
Pacers CAN ALWAYS access water at ALL aid stations.
VOLUNTEERS
The Delirious WEST is a logistical ultra in itself and the event relies on the help of a big team of volunteers to make it happen.
If you would like to help ouT for an experience you will never forget, please complete our Volunteer Register form.
All volunteers will receive a Volunteer Tech Shirt, a $400 credit to use on any upcoming Ultra Series Event (to be used in one transaction), and a complimentary lunch at the finish village in Frenchman’s Bay on the Sunday from 1pm.
